Perhaps I’m too late with this but I just started “The Girl In The Bog” by Keith Donohue (USA) published in 2024 by Crooked Lane Books, NY, USA.
A young woman is buried in a bog in Ireland for 1000’s of years and just now, she’s been found & uncovered by a local farmer & his friend. She has inhabited animals, insects, and birds over the years so she could have a look-see but now, her mummified body has been found, in perfect order!!
Very enticing read so far!! Can’t wait for YOURS to become available here!!
Fascinating. This made me think about Sebastian Barry's brilliant novel Days Without End (2016), which has stayed with me since I read it nearly a decade ago. Also about Irish in America in the nineteenth century.
PS The story of Irish immigration to Canada is very different from the American experience. There are lots of scholarly books about it.
