Everyone had been talking about them, and then there they were, being scuttled across my windshield by the strong winds, their tiny feet trying to get traction but inevitably they were hurled off into the great unknown.
I hear you. A few years ago, in June, our tiny home in the woods was inundated with these creepy crawlies. They clambered down trees, dangled from branches landing with a soft plop (so many that it sounded like steady rain on the metal roof), and crept across the deck en masse. Every morning there were more. Couldn't even step outside without stepping on their moving bodies. A wiggling carpet of black. I tried sweeping, a blast of water from the hose, everything I could think of, and still they came. In the end, I surrendered and waited. And they eventually made their way to other trees where they munched, defoliated branches and transformed into moths whose only purpose was to lay more eggs and die.. A cycle of life and death unfolding before my weary eyes. And a particularly robust year for their species.
Thank you, for staying calm & earth loving, in all her complexities. Our job, is to not get in the way.

You have my empathy.
